Ranking The Best States for Healthcare 2019

Washington is the best state in the nation and the No. 4 state for healthcare, according to U.S. News & World Report‘s Best States rankings released May 14.
To compile the rankings, U.S. News evaluated all 50 states using 71 metrics across eight categories, including healthcare. For the ranking, the publication assessed states based on three benchmarks: access, public health and healthcare quality metrics.
The five best states for healthcare are:
- Hawaii
- Massachusetts
- Connecticut
- Washington
- Rhode Island
The five worst states for healthcare are:
- Mississippi
- Arkansas
- West Virginia
- Oklahoma
- Alabama
