What is CARF you might ask? Well, let’s start with what CARF is not. It is not the sound that Fido makes, ARF, although there are some similarities.  Both are concerned with quality. Fido wants the best food and treats. CARF wants your organization to provide quality health care. Fido wants to please his master. CARF wants to please the public, payers, and providers. Fido wants to eat and walk at the same time every day no matter what. CARF wants your organization to provide the same quality care on a consistent basis. Fido is friendly. CARF wants the best for your organization and wants to help you obtain the quality designation you desire.

a symbol of quality. This commitment to quality is sought out by customers, payers, and service providers.

  3. Submit the Intent to Survey.
  4. Invoices for the survey fee.
  5. Selects the survey team.
  6. The survey team conducts the survey.
  7. Renders the accreditation decision.
  8. Submit a Quality Improvement Plan (QIP).
  9. Submit an Annual Conformance to Quality Report (ACQR).
  10. CARF maintains contact with the service provider during the accreditation tenure.
